田主丸藝術研究所（TIAR）は、耳納連山が広がる、自然豊かな筑後地域にあります。私たちは、地域のリソースを
愛し、訪れた人たちと共に創り出すことを喜びとしています。TIARは、地域内外の文化芸術交流の活性化、および
地域の財産としてのアーティスト、アートスペース等の活動を調査・アーカイブ化し、発信していくことを使命としています。
Tanushimaru Institute for Art Research is located in the Chikugo region, which is famous for its rich natural environment, surrounded by Mt. Mino. We deeply adore what the region offers and would like to share the joy of creating the work together with those who visit us. TIAR aspires to cultivate cultural and artistic exchange. The institute also aims to research, archive,
and share artists’ and art spaces’ activities that are considered the treasures of the area.
Gathering and Archiving
水と緑に恵まれた田主丸の豊かな自然の中で時を過ごすことで、改めて「作ること」を捉えなおす場として機能することを目指す。地元の芸術家・アートスペースなど、分野や立場の異なる制作者それぞれの「作ること」に対する生の声に耳を傾け、聞き取ったものを記録し、発信していく。
We hope TIAR will function as a place to rethink the meaning of creation by encouraging artists to spend time in Tanushimaru’s rich natural environment. We also aim to document and share the voices of creators, including local artists and art spaces, on what creation means to them.
Creative Local
TIARが拠点をおく地域一帯には数多くの古墳群が存在する。わたしたちは、この地で古くから続いてきた人々の暮らし、森羅万象こそ、創作の源であると考える。
国内外からTIARを訪れる作家に対して地域の歴史、特産品、工芸、自然を紹介し、そこから刺激を受けたものを、作家自身が作品化することをサポートしていく。
その成果は国内外の人々に向けて発信され、新たな土地の記憶として心に刻まれることを望む。
TIAR is located in the area where several kofun ancient tombs exist. We witness traces of human lives and natural phenomena that have continued for thousands of years as the real sources of creation. We introduce local history, products, crafts, and nature to the artists visiting TIAR and support how the artists transform what they experienced into their art. The outcome will be shared widely and will remain in the soil as a new memory of the area.

Artist in Residence Program
TIAR主要メンバーが長年培ってきた海外とのネットワークを生かし、国内外の作家の研究創作活動の支援、作家同士の交流を行う。海外交流先はニュージーランド他、アジア・アフリカ・ヨーロッパ・北米に展開。受入作家の活動分野は美術、音楽、ダンス、パフォーマンス、文学、研究等、特に制限を設けない。1ヶ月間の滞在期間終了後、その成果をTIARで発表し、地域の作家や住民と交流する。静かな環境は研究創作に適しており、制作スペースが広いため、今まで実現できなかったスケールの作品制作が可能。
Based on an international network cultivated by TIAR members, TIAR supports the research and creative activities of domestic and international artists and cultivates the network among them. International partners include New Zealand as well as countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Artists from any genre, including art, music, dance, performance, literature, and research, will be accepted. The resident artists will stay in TIAR for one month and share their creation with local artists and residents. The serene environment is suitable for research, and a large-scale studio will allow artists to try large-scale artworks.
